Shankar Succumbed To Distributors Pressure?
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 July 2018 4:25 PM GMTThe release date of '2.0' has been a hot topic in the media for a long time. The most awaited high budget extravaganza starring Superstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar was supposed to hit the screens on the occasion of Diwali last year itself. But it was postponed a couple of times citing delay in Visual Effects.
The team has come up with the release date recently. Director Shankar has revealed through Twiter that the vfx companies have at last promised the final delivery date of the VFX shots and the movie will release on November 29, 2018. Though Rajinikanth fans and Shankar admirers felt jubilant at the announcement of the release date, there is a different version of the news going on in the Kollywood.
They say that director Shankar succumbed to the pressure of distributors and decided to leave out some action sequences that were actually planned for the film because their visual effects work is actually hampering the release date. It is known that distributors paid huge advances for the most hyped film. They are bearing the interests of those advances for a long time without having a clue about the release date. As they started pressurising the production company Lyca Productions, they have put the pressure on Shankar and finally came up with the release date leaving out complicated portions of visual effects.
Having said all these things, 2.0 is still a crazy project by any means of standard. Whether you take it's star cast.. technicians.. budget... in a single phrase, it can't get bigger than this!
