Majority Of '2.O' Shoot Done Here!

It is not an easy thing to make a movie with Super Star Rajinikanth. Whenever he appears in the public, his fans will mob him and makers find it difficult to carry out the shoot. It is very tough to shoot outdoor scenes involving Rajinikanth in entire South. Then, what about a large span sci-fi film like '2.O'?
The makers needed a large space with all the facilities to carry out the shoot so they have taken 150 acres of land for lease. There was a theme park named EVC World on Poonamallee area on the Chennai outskirts. But it was closed down permanently two years ago. Lyca Productions have taken the theme park for lease for few years by paying several crores. Then they have erected huge sets and carried out the shoot for several months without any disturbances.
The sets include Mobile phone store.. Military tankers.. Robots Unit etc. The producer said to have constructed buildings for accommodation and other things apart from shooting. Whenever there is a patch work for the scenes that were picturised on other locations they used to complete it in the EVC world with the help of sets.
Director Shankar said to have spent most of the time in this EVC world for the past few years without going home. Unit members are saying that the total budget of '2.O' is Rs.450 crores but half of the budget has been spent in the EVC World.
