Shankar Shared A Beautiful Memory About Rajni!

Director Shankar entered films to tell stories but he always admired Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan. He wanted to make films with them back to back as he felt his movies will reach to maximum of audiences, if they acted as leads.
He got a chance to direct Kamal soon, but he had to wait to get Rajini's dates for 13 years after starting his journey as director.
In fact, he planned to make Oke Okkadu with Rajini but that did not work out due to date issues. He wanted to work with Kamal again after Bharateeyudu but that took 22 years time to happen.
He is also a director who did not need star heroes all the time to tell his stories. He himself became a brand.
May be that helped him become the only director that Rajinikanth repeated thrice in recent times. He made Shivaji, Robo and 2.0, with the actor.
Shankar remembered those days and shared a rare memory of Rajinikanth from the sets of Shivaji. He shared that Rajini unlike others who prefers to go to Caravan after a shot, did not even move from shooting spot during lunch time.
He praised the Superstar saying that his simplicity bowled him over during that time and he got to know how to value time from Rajini, even after becoming so popular and successful, after working with him.
Shankar spoke at length about his association with Superstar on the stage of Pre-release event of Darbar, Rajini's Pongal release. Shankar wished all the success to Darbar team - Lyca Productions and director A.R. Murugadoss.
