Director Shankar is known for making films with a mammoth budget. But of late, his films are not performing as per the standards of its budget, which is ending them up as loss ventures. Same was the case with his last film 2.0, which has got good collections but still ended up the producers in losses.
Now, Shankar is making Indian 2, with Kamal Haasan as the lead. The shoot of this film has been halted as the producers denied to give the extra budget proposed by Shankar. The director had to rope in another production house to co-produce the project, but still, things didn't go easy for him.
He was made to sign a budget contract by the producer and now, he can't exceed the proposed budget. Shankar, who is known for increasing budget in the midway of the shoot, should now stick to the money he has bee given. We have to see how will he handle the project in this way.
