Shantanu and Nikhil use Disney characters for kidswear
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 May 2013 9:47 AM GMTDesigner duo Shantanu and Nikhil have created a signature line based on Disney characters. The line is for children aged between 6 and 14.
The designers, who are known for fusion wear, have associated with Disney Channel for its campaign Jet Set 2. This will be the designers' first kidswear line.
"The collection is about celebration, joy, and happiness. Colours like apple green, sky blue, corals have been used. Emphasis is on main Disney characters Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck," Shantanu told IANS.
Child-like playfulness of these characters in their real day to day lives is well portrayed in the line. Made of cotton, the collection consists of t-shirts, cropped cargoes and much more.
However, the kids collection is an exclusive project meant for winners of Disney Channel's Jet Set 2. Due to this, the designer's creations won't be available for retail. But it will be showcased by children June 17 at a gala event by the channel.
Any plans to come up with a separate kidswear range anytime soon?
"Kidswear requires proper backing. You need wider distribution network. We will take the plunge whenever we are ready for it," Shantanu said.
