South Cinema Is Now Superior To Bollywood

The director made Mr. India, Bandit Queen kind of huge films and then went on to make Hollywood films. He is looking to make a Hindi-English biligual from a long time.
He is appointed as the head of committee that decides National Awards this year, after the last year awards became controversial for the bias.
Shekar Kapur said that he no longer believes that South Cinema is inferior to Bollywood. He said, "Films like Baahubali, Robo, 2.0 are a proof that South Cinema is looking at grandeur and variety."
He continued, "I have seen many films as the Chairman of the committee and there is a huge wave of films from South India that deal with variety and even Bollywood legends are accepting that South Cinema crossed them in grandeur and variety."
He said that he doesn't think there should be a tag of regional cinema, anymore. As Bollywood needs to learn a lot from South Indian Cinema, only, Indian Cinema tag should exist, he opined.
