Shooting Halt Will Bring Telugu Film Industry To a Standstill!

The film industry suffered a big crisis in the form of the Covid pandemic. Though it has been two years since the pandemic hit the industry, it is unable to come out of the crisis. Adding more troubles, issues like the increase in the production cost, the Virtual Print Fee (VPF), and OTT releases are playing their part in mounting the issues.

Amid this, the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) took a key call that the film shootings would be halted from the 1st of August till everything gets sorted in the industry and the issues get answered.

The decisions taken by the producers guild will bring the film industry to a standstill. The projects which are expected to hit the floors soon would get affected. Not just the new films, the films which are in the shooting stage will also get disturbed now.

The much-awaited films like Mahesh Babu-Trivikram's project, Pushpa 2, and NTR-Koratala Siva's film NTR 30 are expected to hit the floors by early next month or in any time in August. Sadly, the halt of the shootings will come into existence

On the other hand, the films which are in the shooting stage like RC 15, Nani's Dasara, and other films would also get affected. The halt of shoots which will come into effect from the 1st of next month will also make the production costs go up massively.

It is known that how to control the growing production costs in the industry is one of the issues that want to be addressed by the producers. Now the halt in the shoots will result in a hike in the production cost. The advances and remunerations the producers gave to the artists and technicians would be increased.

Though the Producers Council said that it has nothing to do with the decision taken by the Producers Guild, the chances of producers escaping the shooting halt are very thin. The advances for locations and the remunerations for the technicians the producers have given will get wasted and they have to repeat the same procedure. Now the producers are in a bothering situation.
