Should some websites change?
X
Growth in digital marketing as allowed many people to start a new entertainment website that shares news reports, updates and picture regarding the release movies and also, share a review of the movie. Any review written by a critic should be considered as an opinion by a learned person. If such is not the case, then it is a mere opinion shared by a normal viewer.

What is the difference you ask? For a person who knows depth of coding to a person who is reading a beginners guide to C language, the system is same, the programming language also doesn't change but the execution levels change. Similarly, a critic is a person who can be pessimistically optimistic and give a correct suggestion to a director and team, where they excelled and what went wrong. From early days of cinema, to give an idea to makers of what people are thinking and what mistakes they have committed reviews have come into existence and they are still a educated opinions but not absolute truth.

So commercialising them, so that an enthusiastic audience member clicks on your link seems to have developed inyo a a culprit killing the positive opinion on reviews in the general public. Good reviews and authentic opinions have always proved to make a good statement on the film's greatness or lack of it, devoid of its box office performance. Box office is an indication of talk among the general audience and that doesn't really have to correspond with one person's or firm's opinion.

Not caring for this, few websites have started a culture of regular updates. Even before the movie releases in all the areas, we can see the entire film or read it in the name of First on net and exclusive updates. We are not against them but reviews are traditionally to help enhance the knowledge of an audience member pointing out certain merits or lack of it, so that after watching the movie they can discuss. It is not a box office validation but few websites in their penchant to prove themselves as successful have been trying to give updates while the show is going on and write a review within an hour or two. Just to say that they have updated a review.

This kind of too commercial thought process is now receiving backlash from the Industry. Many are asking how can you be worried about updating and at the same time concentrate on movie. Earlier, reviewers used to give reviews after a week and there are instances, for example, Andhrabhoomi's Vennela used to be the best sold cinema paper and just for the review and discussion, on Friday, many copies used to be sold and circulated more than usual. This is not about some craze for a review or a reviewer or a critic but this is about the passion of a movie going audience member. When that person enjoys the film, they would love to revisit it through another person's observation who can articulate it well.

They could disagree with it or agree with it. In fact, reviews have helped movies on re-releases and in today's world, Arjun Reddy and Pelli Choopulu stood out because of reviews. Movie's box office performance cannot be guaranteed by a review and this should be remembered by the makers and also by the websites. We cannot kill a film and try to make money on it. So, may be it is better to wait until the first show has been screened all over the world to share reviews. Earlier the market is confined to two Telugu states but now it is global and also, it will be killing a movie domestically or Internationally if you just strive hard to promote some view point without really understanding and appreciating the movie! We are not here to point fingers and this is just our opinion that could be helpful for us and others to reinstate the faith in general audience and also Industry members that we are as passionate as them!
