Should Tollywood Sort Out Internal Issues First before Others?

What is happening with Tollywood is the question everyone has now. The issues which are troubling the industry triggered the Producers Guild to call for a strike from the 1st of August to look into the pending issues. The producers' body took the decision to get some time so that the issues can be looked into.

But there comes the big twist. As a response to the shooting halt call given by the Active Telugu Film Producers Guild, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, and the Telugu Producers Council distanced themselves from the Guild's decision.

Telugu Producers Council countered the claims and said that no such decon to halt the shootings was taken. None other than the chairman of the producers' body Kalyan said this while speaking to the media. He observed that the producers have a body and they will take a call on whether or not to halt the shootings.

The alleged rift among the producers popped up when the Tollywood film industry is struggling hard with external issues like the less hit percentage, the OTT release, and the issues faced by the exhibitors.

On many occasions, the theatre exhibitors expressed their concerns that they are unable to run the business with the changes in the movie ticket fares.

There is a mixed response from the producers on the OTT release of the films. Recently, the body proposed that there should be a gap between the theatre and OTT release of films to save the film collections.

On the other hand, the rise in the production costs of the films is another big concern for the producers, and the high remunerations charged by the big stars are said to be troubling the producers.

At the time when the producers guild is working hard on looking into the long-pending issues, the alleged cracks among the producers popped up.

While the producers are having contrasting views on halting the film shootings, the cine workers across the crafts who pinned high hopes that their demand of increasing the wages would be implemented are in a bothering situation as there is no clarity if the shootings will be stopped or continued.
