Whether some people accept it or not, item songs have a special recognition in the commercial films. Items songs will make the audience go crazy at the theaters with whistles and dances. Mumaith Khan achieved superb popularity with these item songs. But Star heroines started sizzling in item songs in the recent past because they are getting huge remuneration for three four days of call sheets. Most of the present generation star heroines have done item songs.
Shriya Saran is a North Indian beauty but she achieved star heroine status in South films. She has done several item songs. But she doesn't agree if someone calls them as 'item songs'. She suggests them to refer them as 'special songs'. It is known that Shriya appeared in a special song recently in Krishna Vamsi film 'Nakshatram'. She said that the reason behind doing the special song in 'Nakshatram' not money.. but the affection towards Krishna Vamsi. She said that "I don't do special songs for only for the sake of money. I've done them because I liked them".
It is known that she has sizzled in special songs in 'Munna'.. 'Devadasu'.. 'Komaram Puli' earlier. When she was asked about her marriage, she said that it's going to be an arranged marriage but she didn't reveal when she is going to marry. She said that she will never go for a love marriage... she is also saying that she will say good bye to films after her marriage.
