Shruti reveals why she quit Sangamithra

Shruti Haasan opting out of high-budget period drama 'Sangamithra' after taking part in the promotions at Cannes Film Festival came as a huge shock to everyone. On May 29th, Sri Thenandal Films disclosed that the multi-faceted Actress couldn't be part of the project due to unavoidable circumstances.

For few days, Shruti Haasan remained mum on the issue. She just said it's unfortunate to miss being part of an ambitious project like 'Sangamithra'. 'As Actors, we dream of doing such roles. Unfortunately, Things didn't fall in place,' she quips.

Whereas, Shruti's Spokesperson has given a detailed explanation of what went wrong. 'Shruti Haasan has been training with finest combat trainers since April this year to keep herself prepared for the role of Warrior Princess. She, however, didn't receive either bound script or proper date calendar. It's really tough for someone to devote 2 years of his/her life to a project without being properly informed, ' says the statement.
