This Director-Turned-Actor Is Winning Bo And Hearts!
By: Tupaki Desk | 19 May 2019 11:05 AM GMTThese days it became easy to say that if a film flops, it won the hearts of people and fans take pride in such statements too.
But there are people who are really winning hearts and box office too. Tamil Director, who turned into an actor and made Kushi, Puli with Pawan Kalyan, SJ Surya is making it as an actor too.
He wanted to be an actor but chose direction as he isn't getting producers to introduce him. He could get Ajith's dates to make Vaali and that changed his life.
He later made Kushi in Telugu, a remake of his blockbuster film of same name in Tamil. He is looked at as a sensational director as he could make three back to back blockbusters.
He made Kushi in Hindi which failed and then made Nani with Mahesh Babu in Telugu. Both failed and forced him to choose acting in his Nani Tamil remake, New. The movie became a hit.
He tried several films but none worked. So, he took three years to make Isai, in his own direction as lead actor and it became a hit. Still many did not believe in his acting abilities.
Karthik Subbaraju changed that impression with Iraivi and SJ Surya proved his talent as an actor. He got to work with Selva Raghavan for Nenjam Marupathillai, AR Murugadoss's Spyder and Atlee's Mersal.
Mersal's success and his role in Spyder made him a busy actor in Tamil. Now, his recent film, Monster which involves him facing a rat, became a success. It won appreciation of critics and people too. Seems like SJ Surya is finally living his dream.
