By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Dec 2018 2:08 PM GMTSowkar Janaki entered the Film Industry at the age 14 and stayed as one of the most preferred actresses in second lead roles after Savitri and Jamuna.
She then slowly got accustomed to playing supporting roles and elder roles on screen. She has seen the Industry from 1950's and she commented about #MeToo moment stating it as a meaningless one.
"Few girls are crying foul after using the men who threw money at them for gains. That is morally wrong on their part as they are trying to make their case of being innocent while they aren't.
I fought for women rights all my life and bringing up issues that are long past in time is all about trying to gain some publicity and popularity.
But what about their husband and children? Aren't they going to have tough time leading normal lives in a highly judgmental society.
They have to just say it out loud that then and there rather than following an example of Hollywood which is a completely different society.
One shouldn't follow someone blindly without understanding the ground they are standing on," said the senior actress.
Some of the actresses are confused about the comments and they feel she did not understand the whole purpose of bringing change in the system and end the male jingoism.
