His craze as well as the market grew rapidly and he was on the verge of becoming the next big thing in Tollywood. He faced two setbacks in the form of 'World Famous Lover' and 'Dear Comrade'. He aimed to become a pan-Indian hero with 'Liger' and worked on it for two years. But the movie ended up as the biggest failure in his career.

As it is known, he reportedly okayed the story of 'Jersey' fame Gautham Thinnanuri. Dil Raju was supposed to bankroll this project and sources claim that 'Sithara Entertainments' banner has taken over the project. Naga Vamsi will be producing this film along with My Home banner and it is expected to start as soon as possible.
Sources say that Gautham Tinnanuri penned a script with sports backdrop once again after 'Jersey'. We all know, how beautifully he made 'Jersey' which is also an emotional sports drama. We need to wait and see what he does with Vijay Deverakonda this time.
