After being part of around 350 Feature Films, Superstar Krishna has decided accept only promising roles by giving importance to the feelings of his Fans. That's why we are able to see him only in few roles of character artiste in the past decade. After a very long gap, Krishna made a comeback as protagonist with 'Sri Sri'. Senior Filmmaker Muppalaneni Siva directed this Marathi remake. What this re-entry flick of Superstar have to offer?

Synopsis:

Sripada Srinivasa Rao aka Sri Sri (Krishna) is a well-known law professor in Visakha. Sri Sri's Daughter Swetha prepares a Documentary on the negative impact of the violations of JK Industries on the tribals in the agency. That's when she gets killed by the Son of JK Industries MD & two other Youth. Sri Sri moves court but justice was denied. What path he choose to take revenge on the accused forms the rest of the story..!

Performances:

Krishna's New Look is too good, much better than his appearance in films he acted in the 90s. He, however, failed to arrest the attention of viewers with his acting prowess.

Vijaya Nirmala does a decent job. Combination scenes with Naresh have come out well. Sai Kumar goes overboard. Even the Actress who played Krishna's Daughter irritates. Posani and Muali Sharma have done complete justice to their roles.

Pros:

Krishna's Get-Up

Mahesh's Voice Over

Cons:

Music

Screenplay

Direction

Technicalities:

ES Murthy's Music is poor. Neither Songs nor Background Score were appreciable. Sathish Muthyala's Camera Work is below par. Dialogues lack the punch. Editing is just okay. Nothing much to say about Production Values. Muppalaneni Siva delivered some good hits like 'Raja', 'Priya O Priya' & 'Sandade Sandadi' a decade ago. But, 'Sri Sri' proved he is outdated and can't match up with the tastes of present day audience.

Analysis:

'Sri Sri' has got few specialities. While Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala & Naresh played key roles, Mahesh Babu offered Voice Over & Sudheer Babu played a Cameo. The intention was to make it a memorable film for 'Ghattamanenis'. But, All films can't be as promising/successful as 'Manam' and its a hard reality one has to face.

The title 'Sri Sri', Tagline 'Revenge Never Gets Old' and Krishna's get-up could be misleading as the film have nothing much to engage the audience. At one point, It reminds us of the Court Room arguments in films released in the 70s & 80s. Even the revenge episode of Protagonist doesn't excite the viewer. Sequences of Police Investigation were terribly executed.

New look of Krishna is pretty good but the kind of energy for what he is known for is missing here. Flashback episode of Hero's Daughter tests the patience of the audience. Mahesh Babu's Voice Over & Sudheer Babu's Cameo in the end were like a gift for the viewers who didn't step out of the theatres before the Climax. Had if the content was good, These elements could have helped in drawing crowds to the theatres. In this case, Both Mahesh & Sudheer were wasted completely. 'Sri Sri' is a film which might bring a smile on the faces of Superstar's die-hard fans for the fact that their favorite hero appeared on the big screen again after a long gap. On a whole, It's a forgettable venture!

Bottom Line: Even Mahesh's Voice Over can't save it!
