By: Tupaki Desk | 5 Jan 2021 6:52 AM GMTIt is known that Covid-19 pandemic had affected the film industry on a large scale and mainly the theatre business is the sector, which was hit badly. After months of closure, the big screens are now slowly opening across the country with a few movie releases. Already a moderate movie in Telugu has been released and has rocked the theatres to an unprecedented level.
Even if it is not now, for another month or two the situation may be completely fine. The people may not hesitate to step into theatre in the next two months if the virus settles down completely. However, at a time when the theatre owners are hoping for big movie releases, some star heroes are keen on OTT release.
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Telugu star hero Nagarjuna Akkineni are now facing the criticism for singing deals with the digital streaming platforms. As per reports, Mohanlal's Drishyam 2 and Nagarjuna's Wild Dog are gearing to stream on the OTT.
Now, the Film Exhibitors Federations are speaking out against the star heroes for letting the films go to an OTT platform. Seems like the veteran actors' wants to avoid the race by releasing their films on the big screens as a bunch of films have already confirmed the dates for theatres release.
