Surendar Reddy came to Hyderabad with the dream of becoming a director. He joined in a Film Institute for a course and began searching for offers. Very soon, He realized its not going to be a cake walk and he was unable to get work. After four years, He was hired as Assistant Director for Director T Prabhakar with the recommendation of his brother-in-law.
One fine day, Surendar Reddy approached Kalyan Ram with a bound script and that's how 'Athanokkade' happened. In the past 9 years, He directed only 6 films and none of them were utter flops.
When asked why he taking so much time, The Stylish Filmmaker says he works on the script for 6 months and doesn't want to hurry.
