Strategy Of Hike In Ticket Rates Backfiring For Acharya!

Film producers nowadays are finding new ways to get more collections within a short time. There was a time when movies used to run for 100 days but they have to get as much as they can within the first weekend in current times. With the packed scheduling of release dates post-pandemic, the makers of big films are getting special permissions from the governments for increasing the ticket rates and adding more shows. This will help in generating more money within a few days of its release.

This strategy has been applied for gigantic movies like 'RRR' and 'KGF - 2' which was justifiable considering their huge budgets. Single screen theatre tickets cost around 200 rupees while multiplexes charged 400 per ticket which is too high. But the audience couldn't resist the euphoria and hype over these films. With those films having great content and quality, they did not think twice before pulling out their wallets.

But they were not ready to do the same for 'Beast' which ended up in losses. Films like 'RRR' and 'KGF - 2' are exceptions but increasing the ticket rates before every star hero film's release will prove to be costly. The audience are not showing the same interest in spending such huge money on regular commercial films.

According to reports, the advance bookings for Megastar's 'Acharya' is not going as expected. The trade pundits expected a very good business but this film is not having much luck. With the increased ticket rates in Telugu states, the audience are now thinking twice before going to theatres. Even though the film has Megastar and Ram Charan coming together, most of the viewers are waiting for the reviews to come in so that they could decide whether to spend huge money on this film or wait for a few days as the prizes will go down after 5 days. Hope the producers and distributors revise their strategies from now on.

Produced by Matinee Entertainments banner, Chiranjeevi's wife Surekha Konidela is presenting this film. Kajal Agarwal is the heroine for Chiru while Pooja Hegde will be romancing Charan in this movie. Mani Sharma is the music composer. As we know, he is playing a key role in this prestigious film which is releasing on 29th April.
