Strong Hamsa Nandini Fighting Breast Cancer!

Beautiful actress Hamsa Nandini who is well-known to the Telugu audience thanks to her special songs in hit films like 'Legend', 'Mirchi', 'Attarintiki Daredi' and others is fighting breast cancer. Hamsa Nandini herself took to social media and announced the news to her fans. Posting a black and white photo where she is seen with a shaved head, she shared the news about her health condition and how strongly she is fighting it.
She wrote, "No matter what life throws at me, no matter how unfair it may seem, I refuse to play the victim. I refuse to be ruled by fear, pessimism and negativity. I refuse to quit. With and love I will push forward."
Hamsa Nandini revealed that she lost her mother 18 years ago to a dreadful disease and lived under its dark show ever since. Adding to that, she states that she felt a lump in her breast 4 months ago and realised that her life was never going to be the same. She get it checked immediately and visited a surgical oncologist who suggested a biopsy. The medical team diagnosed her with Grade III invasive Carcinoma (Breast Cancer).
After a plethora of scans and tests, she got her tumor removed and doctors confirmed that there was no spread. But her relief was short-lived as she tested positive for BRCA1 (Hereditary Breast Cancer). This means that she has a genetic mutation that guarantees a 70% chance of Breast Cancer and a 45% chance of Ovarian Cancer throughout her life. The only way to mitigate the risk is with some extensive prophylactic surgeries. She said that her battle with cancer has turned into a full-blown war. She reportedly had undergone 9 cycles of Chemotherapy with 7 more to go.
She wrote, "I have made myself a few promises. I will NOT let this disease Define My Life and that I will fight it with a Smile and Win. I will get back on screen Better & Stronger. I will tell my story so that I can help Educate & Inspire Others. And, I will Consciously Celebrate Life & all it has to offer." She thanked all her well-wishers who flooded her inbox with messages which includes her family members, film fraternity and others.
