Superstar's 'SVP' Inching Towards 200 Cr According To Producers!

Superstar Mahesh Babu's 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' which came out on 12th May opened to mixed response but packed houses. The movie had a lot of positive buzz prior to its release but many felt that the film did not reach the expectations. Fans were thrilled to see Mahesh in full form as he did action, comedy and romance with complete ease. There was a lot of energy in him compared to his last couple of movies.
The film got a huge money during its first weekend and the producers have termed it as a big success irrespective of the talk. As per them, the commercial entertainer had a super solid second week as it got good collections in domestic as well as overseas regions. As per the makers, the movie that smashed many box office records, including the highest grosser record in Tollywood (regional film) by the end of the second weekend has achieved breakeven status.
Apparently, it is inching towards the 200 crore mark as it earned a total of 196.1 crores already. It reportedly minted 153.8 crores in AP and Telangana states while it got 14.9 crores in Karnataka and the Rest Of India. The movie collected 27.4 crores from the overseas market. All these figures were revealed by the producers and they claim that Mahesh's star power along with zero competition helped the film a lot.
What makes these numbers even more interesting is that statement given by Dil Raju during a recent discussion about collections. He said, "As distributors, we give collection report to producers. They are posting their own numbers." A big name like Dil Raju who is both a producer and distributor saying this makes the details about 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' collections quite fascinating.
