Suriya In Sankranthi Race, Vikram Lost It

Tamil star hero Vikram used to enjoy wonderful following a decade ago. He mesmerised the Telugu audience with 'Aparichitudu' and he created a market for himself in Telugu. Even his 'Sivaputrudu' was also a sensational hit. Vikram played the lead role in the film and another Tamil actor Suriya appeared in supporting actor role. Telugu audience didn't care him much in that movie.

It was 'Ghajini' which gave him a break in Telugu. Utilising the opportunity, he achieved decent market for himself in Telugu later. Even though there are ups&downs in his career, he has a considerable following in Telugu even today. It is only Suriya who achieved this kind of following after Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan among Tamil heroes. Telugu audience treat him as their own hero.

We can understand his confidence as he is releasing his latest film 'Gang' in the Sankranthi season amidst biggies like 'Agnyaathavaasi'.. 'Jai Simha'. Not just that he is releasing the film but it has good craze as well. On the other hand, Vikram's latest film 'Sketch' is releasing in Tamil on Pongal but they are not able to release the film as the demand decreased for Vikram. It is doubtful whether the audience will watch Vikram film if they release the Telugu version sometime later.

The reason is simple. Vikram kept on losing his market in Telugu with each and every film in the last decade. The situation of Vikram and Suriya completely changed in the last decade.
