Why did Suriya apologize to Senior Journalist?

Tamil star Suriya apologized to a Senior Journalist on the stage. Why did such a situation arise to someone who is known to be grounded, well behaved and non-controversial.
Suriya and Karthi celebrated his father Siva Kumar's 75th Birthday Celebrations in a grand manner. They arranged an exhibition of Siva Kumar's drawings. Even some of the Senior Journalists who have a long association with Siva Kumar were invited for the celebrations.
It was then Senior Journalist and Actor Bailavan Ranganathan stunned everyone present there with a comment. He told Siva Kumar always maintained good relations with media and went on to say he has never seen such a supportive person in the Industry. He, however, opined neither Suriya and Karthi has inherited his qualifies. The Journo revealed he was ill-treated by Suriya's staff when he had gone to invite him for his Daughter's wedding.
Soon, Suriya stepped on the stage and apologized for what has happened. The Actor claimed that incident hasn't come to his notice so far and promised to ensure such things don't repeat in future. In the end, He pledged to follow the path shown by his father.
