Whenever we think about songs and romance in Hindi movies, we tend to get the images of a heroine in chiffon saree dancing with Swiss Alps as background.
This iconic imagery has been a part of Hindi movies ever since Yash Chopra started making it a feature of his films from Chandini, in which Sridevi acted as the lead.
In 1964, Raj Kapoor first shot in Switzerland and after that many Hindi films shot there. But Yash Chopra became synonymous with the Swiss Alps and romantic songs as his films in late 80's and early 90's became highly famous.
The Government of Swiss has honored him by installing his statue at Interlaken and now, the Government is thinking about installing Sridevi's statue too.
Swiss Government concentrated on tourism as the Bollywood movies became so popular across the world and last year, more than 336,000 tourists visited Swiss just from India.
So, as a loving memory of Sridevi and to show their gratitude, they are planning to build her statue.
