Taapsee Pannu's take on pay inequality in Bollywood

The Pink actress Taapsee even drew comparisons on how people react when female actors and male actors increase their remuneration.
Thappad actress Taapsee said, when female actors hike their remuneration, they are seen as difficult and problematic and when the male actors do the same, it is seen as a sign of success.
Taapsee Pannu gave an interview to a national channel recently and gave her opinion on pay inequality and how people see it. Male actors who started with me are earning three to five times more than me. The pay gap will be even more between the big stars, she said
The actress stressed that compared to the male stars, films with female stars as the lead makes comparatively fewer collections and said it is the audience who won’t appreciate female stars as much as they celebrate the male stars.
The Judwaa 2 actress also spoke about how the budget for female-centric films were reduced for the reason that the revenue generated from these films will be less and said, this happens due to the audience.
On the work front, Taapsee Pannu was last seen in Vinil Mathew’s Haseen Dillruba released recently. Released on the OTT platform Netflix, the suspense thriller received mixed reactions.
