The Tamil film industry was left shell-shocked by the suicide of Smirija, who is the wife of Tamil actor Siddharth Gopinath. Srija was found hanging from ceiling of her room in Maduvoyal of Chennai.
Siddharth and Smirija were married for three years and had a stormy relationship. Sources said she had a heated discussion with Siddharth for quite sometime before she stormed into her room and shut the door from inside. Sources also revealed that she and her husband went out for some time and returned after sometime. Immediately after reaching home, they had a wordy duel.Siddharth, who slept on the sofa in the drawing room woke up to find his wife hanging from the ceiling. He immediately informed the police.
