Don't watch Arjun Reddy if you hate Lip-Locks!
By: Tupaki Desk | 22 Aug 2017 11:22 AM GMTTammareddy Bharadwaj responded on the burden of Goods & Services Tax (GST) on Film Industry during the pre-release event of 'Arjun Reddy'. 'In single screens, Tickets were sold for even Rs 20. After deduction of GST & Theater Maintenance, Producer gets a mere Rs 3. How can a Producer survive if the situation is such worse?,' he questioned.
The Veteran opined 'Pelli Choopulu' and 'Arjun Reddy' enjoyed good craze but every film mayn't be that lucky. He said even Makers of 'Arjun Reddy' might have suffered had if someone like Sunil Narang hadn't come forward to buy the distribution rights. He further adds, 'Low-Budget Films are badly hit because of theatre monopoly. Many good films weren't in a position to get a proper release'.
On the buzz regarding the 3 hour run time and lip-lock scenes of 'Arjun Reddy', Tammareddy questioned, 'Why does these people worry about run time? Social Media and Few Politicians have been targeting Films for no reason. Filmmakers include many elements to draw crowds to theaters. If you don't like lip-locks, then better don't go to the theaters'.
