Slap Them If They Misbehave: Tammareddy

Casting couch issue is rocking the entire globe after the Harvey Weinstein episode. Even several actresses in India joined the #MeToo campaign but none of them revealed the name of the abusers. Recently, actress Sri Reddy gave an interview to a TV channel and she revealed sensational things happening in the industry. As Sri Reddy issue became a hot topic, several TV channels and YouTube channels are discussing the casting couch issue for the past few days.
Responding to the casting couch issue, senior filmmakers Tammareddy Bharadwaja said that "Recently some actresses are coming to TV channels and talking about casting couch. Even I have told about them in the past that this kind of things are happening in the industry. As it became a hot topic in the media, everybody should understand one thing. As far as I know, such things will not happen in big production houses. I also heard that one or two top directors are doing such things. I don't know whether it is true or not. I don't know whether the actresses are mentioning about those directors or not. If these actresses reveal the names, the industry can take action on them."
Tammareddy asked the upcoming actresses not to believe 'casting call ads' on the TV channels. He said newcomers shouldn't believe them blindly. They should cross check whether they are genuine filmmakers or not. As the newcomers are not kids.. they know what to do. If someone misbehaves with them they should immediately slap them on their face. Then they will not try to abuse others. He also said that newcomers should verify the authenticity of the filmmaker whether he will really make a film or not, before going to him. It is not right to believe them blindly.
He said that the actresses who are openly revealing about their ordeals should reveal the names of abusers so that film chamber can take action on them. He reminded that there is Movie Artists Association, Directors Association, Producers Council. If anybody is proved to have done something wrong, then they can be suspended from the associations.
