By: Tupaki Desk | 14 March 2013 11:04 PM ISTTata Technologies Ltd, which provides engineering services and manufacturing enterprise IT to global clients, has set up a new innovation centre at Troy, Michigan, the Tata group subsidiary said Thursday.
"The centre has been set up to develop innovative designs and offer consulting services to our global automotive firms. The centre will also compliment our other centre at Novi in Michigan," the company said in a statement from Pune.
"The new centre will enable us to develop innovative solutions for our global customers and the investment in the centre reflects our commitment to the North American market," Tata Technologies vehicle programmes development group head Kevin Fisher said in the statement.
The vehicle programmes development group has developed the landmark eMO (electric mobility) EV study released at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The group also supports automotive manufacturers worldwide from its centres of excellence in Detroit, Coventry in Britain, Stuttgart in Germany and Pune.
"We carried out a detailed study on what type of electric vehicle will be relevant in the commercial market and extended the eMO to produce a best-in-class commercially-viable offering," Fisher said.
