I will no longer work with newcomers - Teja
By: Tupaki Desk | 20 Aug 2017 10:37 AM GMTNot many directors in Telugu Cinema have restricted themselves or even occasionally decided give chances to newcomers like Dasari Narayana Rao. The legendary director worked with almost any actor who had a talent and after him Ram Gopal Verma seemed to be the one to introduce or re-introduce actors in Telugu Cinema. The directors who are ruling roost today like Trivikram Srinivas, SS Rajamouli doesn't prefer to work with many newcomers but there is one director who has been working only with newcomers right from his first film barring for few films in his career, that is, Teja.
But now, with his Nene Raju Nene Mantri success, even Teja seems to have distanced himself from the idea of introducing newcomers as the director recently said this, " I am not any Jesus Christ of Telugu Cinema. I did not come here to work just with newcomers. Recently, like Buddha Bhagavan even I opened my eyes and now, I understood what is more important for my survival. I am just a filmmaker and not a talent hunter in Industry. It is a lot of work to find a new comer and make them learn all the tricks of the trade and extract performance from them. Right now, all I need to do is find out a good actor who is experienced and has a image that will suit for my story and work with him or her."
His film, Nene Raju Nene Mantri, is his first success after Nithiin's Jayam and that came after a long gap of 15 years. So the director might have changed his thinking. Well, but the newcomers who used to think they have at least one director who will listen to them and will be available has decided to close his doors!
