Telugu singer Revanth crowned Indian Idol!
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 April 2017 4:20 AM GMTLM Revanth, the playback singer from Telugu Films repeated the feat that Sree Ramachandra managed to do four seasons back. The singer who could not speak a word in Hindi before the show, learnt to woo audience with complex Hindi songs and his dashing looks to let audience take a note of him. Girls have gone crazy for his voice and looks, this helped him to establish a strong following along with his close competitors Khuda Bhaksh and PVNS Rohit.
Interestingly, Rohit too is a Telugu singer, who got recognition from participating in SP Balasubramanyam's Padutha Teeyaga. With his classically sound technique and great Hindi pronunciation he gave tough fight to both Khuda Bhaksh and Revanth but the later won the title, as he proved himself to be a complete package that the Indian Idol stage look for. Revanth who has already sung more than 200 songs in Telugu and a regular in Telugu singing talent shows, tried to give wings to his ambition and succeeded with pure grit and never say die attitude.
The singer after winning the title, expressed that he was thrilled to sing in front of his Idol and God of Cricket in India, Sachin Tendulkar. He felt shy about girls loving his looks but immediately showed maturity and level headedness by saying none of that would work without him able sing well. He won 25 lakhs in cash prize and a contract with Universal Music as well. He thanked judges, Anu Malik, Farah Khan and Sonu Nigam for selecting him and guiding him throughout his journey in the show. He thanked audience for voting and also said that he needs to prove them right in choosing him as Indian Idol by associating himself with good music. He recognized Mumbai is a tough nut to crack but he seemed to be up for the challenge.
