North Indian people always consider Tamil cinema as the entire Southern film industry but it looks like this notion is changing nowadays. Telugu stars heroes are becoming more popular on social media. The most followed South Indian heroes on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter are from Tollywood which explains a lot.
Superstar Mahesh Babu has over 10 million followers on Twitter and no other star hero from the South is close to him. On Instagram, Rowdy hero Vijay Devarakonda takes the first spot with 8 million followers and he is the first hero to reach this mark. Coming to Facebook, Prabhas holds the first position. He has 16 million followers on Facebook which is huge and major reason for it is the humongous success of 'Baahubali' which made him popular nation-wide.
This way, the top spots on the three major social media platforms are occupied by Mahesh, Prabhas and Vijay Devarakonda. Prabhas is making pan-Indian films from the last couple of years while Devarakonda is making his Hindi debut. It looks like they are going to get more popular from now on.
