South Film Industries called for an indefinite strike from March 2nd in protest against the monopoly of the Digital Service Provides. While Kannada and Malayalam Film Industries observed strike for a day, Telugu Film Industries decided to continue it until the Digital Service Providers clarify when they would waive VPF completely.

Joint Action Committee and Digital Service Providers have come to an understanding at last. As per the compromise deal, Digital Service Providers have reduced the VPF for the financial year 2018-19. They even came forward to negotiate VPF for the next financial year 2019-20. Here are the details of reduced VPF...

E Cinema:

Per Show: 275; Flat Rate capped at Rs 20,000 per Site.

Weekly Per Show Rates:

Week 1: 290; Week 2: 250; Week 3: 200; Week 4: 100; Week 5: 75

D Cinema:

Full Run Flat VPF: Rs 21,750

Per Show: 450

Weekly Rates:

Week 1: 10,750; Week 2: 8,550; Week 3: 6,350; Week 4: 4,000; Week 5: 2,000

All Theatres in Telugu States are expected to open from March 9th (Friday). This is a good sign for the Industry and Movie Lovers welcome it.
