As they have international market they don't compromise on budget & quality. They make it a big brand with sequels. When they are making films based on novels and comic books they go on making sequels endlessly. Even reality films are also following the same trend. They are planning to make web series as a sequel to a milestone Hollywood film.
The Karate Kid(1984) was a martial arts drama film and it went on to become a blockbuster those days. The movie was made with $8 million and it went on to collect $90 million. It was produced by Jerry Weintraub and directed by John G. Avildsen starring Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita and Elisabeth Shue. The story runs in the backdrop of bullied school kid and a Karate master who agrees to teach him karate. The scenes between the master and disciple.. climax emotional scenes are the highlight of the film.
The makers are bringing the story as a web-series before the audience. Raplh Macchio and William Zabka are reprising their original roles in the web series as well. This web series will consist of 10 episodes with the title 'Cobra Kai Dojo'. This web series will be released in 2018.
