Sankranthi: Is Fight Inevitable For Theaters?
X
Filmmakers always try to release their film on festival seasons or long holiday weekends. Except for star producers, others can't afford to release their film on big seasons like Sankranthi. We all know the reason.. they don't get enough number of theaters for their film. Even big producers are also finding it difficult to get a sufficient number of theaters for their films these days.

If we talk about the upcoming Sankranthi season, many people that there would not be much competition as 'Agnyaathavaasi', 'Jai Simha' were confirmed. Suriya's 'Gang' also slated for release but the release was doubtful due to the new restrictions over Tamil dubbed films. But that's not the case now. Suriya film is also releasing on January 12 along with Balayya film. UV Creations banner and Allu Aravind are backing up Suriya film so, they will surely try for a decent number of theaters.

Meanwhile, Akkineni Nagarjuna announced that he is releasing his production venture 'Rangula Ratnam' on Sankranthi season. As we know that Nagarjuna has strong connections, he will try to get a good number of theaters.

'Agnyaathavaasi' team has already booked a large number of screens. It has early bird advantage for two days. But the fight will start for the theaters from January 12. It is known that 'Jai Simha' producer C. Kalyan already expressed his displeasure over the distribution practices in Nizam area. Even though everybody is lobbying for more number of theaters, they will not be successful. We have to wait and see whether they will smoothly handle the theater sharing process or fight with each other in the open.
