Who Will Win This Weekend?
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 July 2018 8:26 AM GMTThese days films are all about first weekend and second weekend business. They are coming with enough shelf life and legs to run further at box office. Rangsthalam proved to be an exception.
But we can't expect such phenomenon with every film and Mahanati, Bharat Ane Nenu, did prove that statement in bold letters. Even though they have become hits they did not have such phenomenal run like Rangasthalam.
Last weekend we saw two high profile releases, Pantham and Tej I Love You. Tej ended up as a disaster and Prantham is managing decent revenues in B and C centers.
This weekend we have Vijetha, Chinababu and RX100 releases. In these films, Vijetha is expected to garner a decent opening as Mega Fans would like to encourage new Mega hero Kalyaan Dhev, coming from the family, that too he is son-in-law of Megastar Chiranjeevi.
The respect on him will high and expectations may not be as high as from Ram Charan or Allu Arjun, when they debuted but to an extent there will be curiosity to watch him on screen.
Next in the line would be Chinababu with Karthi as hero. He will be an easy second choice for the weekend, mainly in rural areas, as he is coming with a complete rural mass film.
All doubts are on RX100. Even though social media did create huge buzz among the young crowds about the film, still can that be translated into an opening like in the case of Arjun Reddy?
We doubt it. The team of Arjun Reddy built up the hype and curiosity factor with every teaser and showed the bold content without backing out from being aggressive. Also, Vijay Devarakonda established himself as a hero with Pelli Choopulu.
RX100 just has good buzz with teaser and trailer. So, it needs strong word of mouth in favour of it from audience to make it a hit. Let's wait and see, if this weekend films prove that only Hare will win or even in this age, there is a good chance for Tortoise to win in the long race.
