These days Cinema like the two Telugu states is facing a separation in social media with some over enthusiasts trying to coin the movies as Telangana Cinema. Well, Arjun Reddy is winning the hearts of young people and it is being seen as a Telangana Cinema by few media people and also, few common people on social media.
They are showing Fidaa, Ami Thumi and Pelli Choopulu movies as best examples for Telangana Cinema. These films have brought the nativity of Telangana language and culture to the screen and that's the reason they are being called Telangana Cinema by them. They have started using hashtags on Twitter stating the same.
Those who oppose such division are countering the argument by saying it is Telugu Cinema and not Telangana Cinema. The culture is same across the Telugu people and for few differences we cannot differentiate in Cinema, is their point. But the people from Telangana state feel that from many years in Telugu movie, the Telangana native accent has not been used properly and it has been discriminated by using it for comedians and antagonists.
Well, Fidaa, became a hit not because it is the story of a Telangana girl but because people connected with the emotions in the love story. Yes, the makers used the beauty of the culture and language very well, but that doesn't mean you have to start discriminating. If you start giving such names then all the fight against discrimination will futile and useless as you're in the end doing the same. Cinema is a universal topic and at least entertainment should not be discriminated in any form! Please, let's stop trying to tag the films and enjoy them as they are meant to be.
