Baahubali-2 Opening Day Record Has Been Broken!
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Nov 2018 12:55 PM GMTAamir Khan has become the star of the decade by giving back to back All Time Highest Grossers at the box office, since, 2010 release, 3 Idiots.
He crossed Rs. 200 crores mark with 3 Idiots and Shah Rukh Khan crossed the record in 2013, with Chennai Express. In the same year, Aamir delivered Dhoom 3 which crossed Rs. 250 crores mark.
In 2014, he opened Rs. 300 crores mark with PK and Salman could just come close to 300 and cross it twice but couldn't beat PK collection.
In 2016, Dangal became even bigger hit and it crossed Rs. 350 crores threshold. All this while, the opening day, opening weekend and first week records have been with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan films.
But Baahubali-2 took a bumper opening in 2017 with a collection of Rs. 40 crores on first day with just it's Hindi version which is more than Prem Ratan Payo of Salman Khan. It is still disputed whether PRDP has the first day record or Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year has the record with Rs. 44 crores from all versions.
With Thugs of Hindosthan, released on 8th November, Aamir Khan finally got the big opening day number that most of his biggest grossers couldn't do as they were working day releases followed big Christmas holidays.
The movie even though is panned all over by critics and common audiences, the advance booking has been good and movie made a huge Rs. 52.25 crores on the opening day, all versions, in 6000 screens, all over India.
Well, Aamir after Baahubali seems to have desired to be a part of such huge film but got all the cast and crew, wrong. With huge hype movie may survive the weekend but fall miserably post that.
