It was exactly 13 years back Pawan Kalyan turned as director. His first directorial debut Johnny was released today. Released on April 25 2003, Johnny, the martial arts-based emotional love story, marked the directorial debut of Pawan Kalyan. Apart from acting in and directing the film, Pawan also penned film's script and crooned a couple of songs in the film.
The movie turned as utter flop at Box office. Though the movie was a dud, Pawan Kalyan's technical brilliance on direction department was revealed. The movie was sold out to more than Rs. 20 crores an it was all time highest at that time.Since the movie tasted losses in all areas, Pawan Kalyan paid his remuneration back to the buyers of the movie.
After 13 years Pawan has once again scripted story for Sardar and the film proved as dud at Box officd.Mega fans were disappointed with the mixed feedback of 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh'. The movie was a big letdown in story, backdrop and screen play. At this juncture mega fans wished no more experiments done by their hero.
