Did Vijay And Mahesh Close Doors For Tamil Market?

Prabhas could attain National wide fame with Baahubali series and many Telugu stars are also looking to find ways to increase their reach and trying to find a strong presence in other languages as well.

While Prabhas has to prove his market with his next films, Vijay and Mahesh seem to have closed doors for others to even try. Before them Nagarjuna did try a market in Tamil, but his Ratchagan failed in Telugu and Tamil.

Venkatesh, Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna did Hindi films too. While Nagarjuna could make an impact in 90's, he understood Telugu is better for him and for 18 years, he did not act in any other language film.

Now, he did Oopiri - bilingual (Thozha in Tamil) and has two big movies in Tamil and Hindi. Other than him, no other lead actor from Telugu has such opportunities. Prabhas has converted both his Saaho and Prabhas20 as multilinguals.

Mahesh kept his best foot forward with Spyder in the direction of A.R. Murugadoss but the movie became a disaster. Similarly, Vijay Devarakonda tried to enter Tamil market with NOTA and it is now going to be a disaster in both languages.

Well, Tamil heroes like Suriya, Vikram, Karthi, to an extent Ajith and Vijay are able to find dedicated fans in Telugu States but Telugu heroes are unable to find a way to increase their market. Had Spyder become a hit, many heroes could have tried their hand too. Now, even if Tamil directors are willing to work for a bilingual, Telugu actors and producers, will think twice.
