TFI Box Office Report: Hits & Misses!
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 April 2016 7:24 AM GMTA lot of straight Telugu films & few dubbed movies have tested their luck at the Box Office recently. Let's see how they performed during the Summer season...
1) Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam: Had a decent Day 1. Strong Word-of-Mouth helped the collections to grow enormously from Day 2 onwards and even more screens were added. A share of over Rs 4 crore has been collected in its first weekend. It is going to be a Super Hit!
2) Police: After a terrific Day 1, Revenues for Vijay starrer dropped due to poor reviews and not so promising WOM. At best, The film could end up as an Average Grosser.
3) Sardaar Gabbar Singh: Even the holidays couldn't help Pawan Kalyan's movie earn decent shares. New Releases too affected the film's revenue in the second week. This cop drama is already being declared as a disaster inspite of earning a share close to Rs 50 crore.
4) Oopiri: One can't expect even a good film to run for more than 3 weeks in present times. The feel-good movie, however, managed minimal shares in all the major centers to become an above average grosser.
5) The Jungle Book: This dubbed version recorded 90% occupancy in Multiplexes and A Centres but could get sufficient screens due to commercial entertainers.
