Tollywood Producer Makes Serious Allegations On Chiranjeevi

For the unversed, Chiranjeevi will be spearheading a Tollywood delegation that will be meeting with the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy very soon to discuss the ongoing hardships faced by those involved with the Telugu film industry. The delegation intends to discuss the much-agitated G.O 35 passed by the Andhra Pradesh government that caps cinema ticket pricing at an abnormally low rate. Tollywood producers, distributors, and those involved with the exhibition industry are hopeful that the chief minister takes their plea into consideration and permits flexible ticket pricing at cinema halls in Andhra Pradesh. If biggies like Acharya, Akhanda, RRR, and others are to make profits at the box office, it is essential that the state government permits flexible ticket pricing.

Coming to the topic, controversial Telugu producer, Natti Kumar who is known for his outspoken attitude has made a series of serious allegations on Chiranjeevi and also the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

"Chiranjeevi invited only a select few producers and cine personalities for a crucial meeting which took place at his house very recently. How can a group of select individuals speak for the entire industry? Chiranjeevi didn't invite a single small-time producer for the meeting. Then how can he understand our problems and struggles? Moreover, why didn't Chiranjeevi invite top hero, Balakrishna for the meeting? How can he neglect a veteran actor and an important personality like Balakrishna? As for YS Jagan, why didn't the honorable chief minister invite the producers' council and the Telugu Film Chamber? What is so personal about the meeting between Jagan and a select few Tollywood personalities?" he questioned.

Natti Kumar went on to add that the government of Andhra Pradesh should indeed continue the restrictions on cinema ticket pricing. He opines that nominal pricing will ensure more footfalls at cinema halls which would, in turn, result in better theatrical revenues for low and medium budget films. He cited the success of recent releases like Thimmarasu and SR Kalyana Mandapam to strengthen his argument. He concludes that Tollywood is a collective unit and not just a celebrated medium decorated by well-established actors and producers.
