The prospect of casting Bollywood actresses is catching up in Tollywood. The makers of big-ticket projects are bringing Bollywood divas on board to amp up the canvas of their films. This trend is growing increasingly popular by the day as every top-tier filmmaker who is making a pan-India project is after a Bollywood beauty. The likes of RRR, Project, RC15, and Icon are proving this point right.
The makers of Rajamouli's magnum opus creation RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles roped in Alia Bhatt for the female lead role in the film. The move is a calculated one and it is intended to expand the film's reach in the northern circuit as Alia is a noted face in the Hindi circuit. The makers are hoping that her inclusion in the star cast will help the film's box office prospects. The film had already boasted of unparalleled star value and the addition of Alia helps the cause further.
Then comes Prabhas's Project K. The makers of this sci-fi thriller, which is directed by Nag Ashwin have roped in top Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone for the female lead role in the film. She will be sharing the scene space with Prabhas and Amitabh Bhachchan in the mega budget sci-fi thriller that is being directed by Nag Ashwin. She will be debuting into Telugu cinema with this much-anticipated project. She will be joining the sets from later this year or early next year.
Coming to RC15, the makers of the Ram Charan starrer have roped in Bollywood starlet, Kiara Advani for the female lead role in the political thriller that will be directed by Shankar. The makers had reportedly paid Kiara a whopping remuneration of Rs 4 crores for starring in the film, making her one of the highest paid actresses in the country. This will be her second collaboration with Ram Charan after Vinaya Vidheya Rama. This project will hit the floors very soon.
As for Allu Arjun's Icon, the makers are planning on roping in young Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor for the female lead role in the film. They will be initiating talks with the young actress very soon.
