We can say that Indian society is conservative when it comes to issues like sex, gynaecology, sanitation etc. unlike the developed countries. If we talk about open defecation problem in India, most of the people will not show interest to talk about it others will not consider it as an issue at all. They will talk about thousand other problems in the country but they will not talk about open defecation and lack of a sufficient number of toilets. When Bollywood star hero Akshay Kumar announced 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' many people ridiculed him. Some netizens went on to say that he is trying to appease the ruling BJP government and PM Narendra Modi. But we all know the box office result of the film.

Coming to the present, senior heroine Trish a took part in a toilet construction programme in a village in Kancheepuram district. Trisha participated in the programme on behalf of UNICEF as the ambassador. She cemented the bricks of a toilet in the village and talked about the importance of sanitation with the villagers. Needless to say, many people are showering appreciation on Trisha for her inspiring gesture. Let us hope many more celebrities take up such issues to bring awareness to make India a 'clean' nation.
