OMG: Just Two Theatres For Petta!
X
A Rajinikanth-starrer never faced theatre shortage but such a situation became inevitable due to the poor planning of 'Petta' Telugu Distributor. Ashok Vallabhaneni who acquired the Telugu Theatrical Rights of 'Petta' decided to release it on January 10th inspite of knowing about the theatrical outing of three straight Telugu Movies. And now, He is making a hue & cry over the shortage of theatres.

On Day 1 (Jan 10), 'Petta' is able get good number of screens as 'NTR - Kathanayakudu' alone gets released by then. Biggest blow would be from 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama' which occupies at least 50 percent of the total theatres in the Telugu States on Jan 11th. From January 12th, The situation turns out be even tougher for 'Petta' with the release of multi-starrer flick 'F2'.

Much to everyone's shock, 'Petta' is able to get only two theatres (Saptagiri - RTC X Roads, Raghavendra - Malkajgiri) in Twin Cities after the release of all the three Telugu Biggies. None of the multiplexes allotted even a single screen for this dubbed flick.

Ashok Vallabhaneni has to blame himself for pushing 'Petta' into a worse situation. Producers/Distributors need to plan releases sensibly...hope, this would be a lesson for all!
