Despite all this, the star hero is facing the wrath of the theatre owners reportedly.
Jumping into the details, Mollywood happening star Dulquer Salmaan is said to have made the theatre owners in Kerala unhappy and to show their anger the owners are reportedly gearing up to boycott his films, reports say.
Media reports say that Dulquer Salman's much-awaited film âSaluteâ was supposed to hit the theatres and the fans were super excited for the release. However, the makers had issued a statement saying that the release date has been pushed given the prevailing situations with the Covid outbreak.
Everything seemed good till then. But when the makers announced that the film will have an OTT release, the theatre owners and the exhibitors' bodies were not happy and reportedly took a decision that Dulquer Salman's films will be boycotted by them.
Though the theatre owners body and the Film Exhibitor's United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) came to a joint decision that the actor's films should be boycotted, they are expected to have a detailed discussion on how about going forward in the issue and all eyes are now on the meeting which is expected to happen on the 31st of this month.
The theatre owners asked what issues the makers have when 100 percent occupancy is permitted in the state and all the theatres are following the same. What more they want, the body reportedly said.
Dulquer Salmaan's Salute is helmed by Rosshan Andrrews, while it was bankrolled by the actor himself. Dulquer will be seen as a cop in the forthcoming film. Besides Malayalam, Salute is all set to release in four other languages- Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada.
Popular OTT Platform SonyLIV grabbed the chance to release the film. March 18 has been locked as the release date. Dubbing Salute as an investigative thriller, the OTT platform confirmed the digital release of the Dulquer starrer.
