Touted to be the official Telugu remake of Tamil superhit film 'Jigarthanda', Harish Shankar is helming this project. Recently, the pre-teaser of the movie went viral on the internet and the movie has now landed up in a big title controversy. As per the latest reports, people of Boya community from where the writer of Ramayana, Valmiki hails from are extremely upset with the movie unit using the name of a sage like Valmiki for a title. The shooting is taking place in Anantapur and Boya community people have even disrupted the shooting. Harish Shankar has reportedly tried to clarify that he is just using the name 'Valmiki' as the title but the story has nothing to do with the real Valmiki or his community. But the people are not at all happy with his explanation and wants the title to be changed.
Harish Shankar has cancelled the shoot and the movie unit returned back to Hyderabad and are planning to continue the same schedule in Chevella region.
