Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced Veena Malik, her actor-husband Asad Bashir Khan and Owner of Pakistan's biggest media group GEO TV Shakil-ur-Rahman to 26 years in prison for allegedly airing a blasphemous programme.
A blasphemous programme in which a religious song was played as a backdrp to Veena Malik and Asad Bashir Khan's mock marriage was aired by GEO TV in May. In the footage, Veena Malik was seen dancing with her Husband as a group of Sufi musicians sand a devotional song.
The Judge even sentenced the TV Host Shaista Wahidi for 26 years jail term. A fine of 1.3 million Pakistani rupees has been imposed on the convicts and their properties will be sold to raise the fine in case if they fail to pay it on time.
