Venu Explains How He Was Convinced By Boyapati For 'Dhammu'!
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 July 2022 7:29 AM GMTAfter a long gap, well-known actor Venu Thottempudi is making his comeback in Tollywood with 'Ramarao On Duty'. During the early 2000s, Venu was known for his successful entertainers like 'Swayamvaram', 'Chiru Navvutho', 'Kalyana Ramudu', 'Khushi Khushiga', 'Hanuman Junction' and many others. But due to unknown reasons, he took a break from acting and he is making a re-entry now.
As we know, Trivikram's first few films as a writer had Venu as the lead. Now that Trivikram became a huge star director, many wondered why he did not give any chances to Thottempudi in his films. When asked about it, the actor said that Trivikram offered him the role Sonu Sood played did in 'Athadu' but he couldn't do it. As we know, it was a very crucial role and Venu might have rejected it since the character was shown in a negative light during the climax.
Venu Thottempudi was also asked about what made him do such a small role in 'Dhammu' and the actor said that Boyapati convinced him by saying that it a character is like Amitabh Bachchan's role in iconic 'Sholay'. He made a sarcastic comment claiming that Boyapati might have said that because both the characters end up dying in the film. While exaggerating is common for directors to convince actors, comparing Venu's role in 'Dhammu' to AB's role in 'Sholay' is a bit too far. isn't it?
