Veteran Producer Key Comments On AP Ticket Rates
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Dec 2021 10:51 AM GMTTelugu film industry has taken a severe hit during the lockdown and they aimed to compensate for the losses by increasing the ticket rates and adding more shows during the first few days of film releases. While the Telangana government obliged their request and granted permissions to increase the rates and the number of shows, the Andhra Pradesh government stood firm to their decision of not increasing the rates.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his team took a daring decision and did not hike the rates and denied the permission to benefit shows. This created a lot of issues for the film industry and despite a lot of discussions with the government officials, the issue hasn't been resolved yet. Many state that the AP government is going in the other direction while every other state has taken one path.
Top producer Narayan Das Narang who is the head of Asian Cinemas gave his views on the decision taken by the AP government. His comments have become viral as the veteran said that it will be tough for the producers if the same rates are kept. He added that not many states have as many theatres as our Telugu-speaking states and claimed that it is necessary to follow the direction everyone is taking. We need to wait and see how this situation between the AP government and the Tollywood industry pans out in the coming days.
