Vice President honours Jersey at the National award Ceremony

The 67th National Film Awards that was earlier scheduled to be held in March was held at the national capital Delhi on Monday. The best films, actors, and craftsmen for 2019 were honoured by the awards and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu presented the honours for the winners.
At the awards function, Natural Star Nani's Jersey had struck two awards in Best Film and Editing categories. Naveen Nooli was the editor for the film and his work had helped the film to bag the award in the editing category.
The makers of the film attended the awards ceremony and received the awards. Director Gowtam Tinnanuri and Producer Naga Vamsi received the awards from the honorable Vice President.
The winners across the categories were announced earlier last year. The National Award Ceremony to honor the best of Telugu Cinema for 2019 that was supposed to be held last year was postponed due to the Covid-19 scare. With the cases coming down the ceremony was hosted by the Directorate of Film Festivals. Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi had hosted the ceremony.
Nani essayed the role of Arjun in Jersey, a sports drama who decided to make a comeback to cricket and play for the Indian National Cricket team. How he overcame the difficulties he faced and did he succeed in gifting a jersey to his son as a gift forms the crux of the story.
Jersey is one of the rare films that won critical acclaim besides doing good business in terms of box-office collections. Nani had once again shined on the silver screen with his unmatchable acting skills in the sports drama. The emotional scenes between father and son are the main highlight of the film.

Now the sports drama is all set to impress the audience in the northern belt as the works to remake Jersey in Hindi are underway. The shooting work is going at a brisk pace. Shahid Kapoor is reprising Nani's role in the remake that will have Mrunal Thakur as the leading lady.
